Our focus in cardiometabolic diseases

We focus on lipid metabolism disorders, including both acute and chronic conditions with genetic or metabolic origins. Our goal is to reduce disease burden and improve clinical outcomes through targeted, science-driven therapies.

High triglycerides are well established as a cardiovascular risk factor. However, when triglycerides are severely elevated, the predominant risk is acute pancreatitis – a medical emergency that can cause debilitating pain, hospitalisation, lasting organ damage and death.1

Our commitment to advancing understanding of lipid disorders reflects our focus on reducing the significant burden faced by people living with these conditions.

Cardiometabolic disease areas

FCS

Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome

Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) is an ultra-rare, chronic metabolic disorder caused by impaired triglyceride breakdown. It leads to extremely high levels of triglycerides in the blood, resulting in recurrent pancreatitis and other serious complications.2,3

sHTG

Severe Hypertriglyceridemia

Severe hypertriglyceridaemia (sHTG) is characterized by dangerously elevated triglyceride levels ≥880 mg/dl (≥10 mmol/l) that can lead to acute pancreatitis and other serious complications.1
